Terms

Who these terms are with

LazyFret is made by Stratis Crest, in Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at hello@lazyfret.com.

Using LazyFret

Use the tools for your own playing, learning and music. Please don't try to break the site, copy the apps to run elsewhere, resell them, take them apart to copy how they work, or use our server to build something of your own.

What's free, and what's paid

Daily and the Tuner are free, here and in the LazyFret app.

SmartPath and Whistle2Riff come with the app, sold through the App Store and Google Play: 14 days free, then $24.99 USD a year. It renews each year until you cancel in your store settings. The app isn't out yet, and its full terms will be set out here before you can buy anything.

Prices are in US dollars. The stores show the price for your country in your own currency, and may add tax.

The waitlist offer

The first 100 people to sign up on lazyfret.com and confirm their email, by tapping the link we send them, get a first year of the LazyFret app for $12.49 USD. It starts after the 14-day free trial. It then renews at the standard price, $24.99 USD a year today, until you cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings.

Places go in the order people confirm, by our records. It's one place per person. A place is yours alone, can't be transferred, and has no cash value. The offer closes when the 100 places are gone or when the app launches, whichever comes first. Anyone after that can ask to hear about the launch, at the standard price.

The app comes out once Apple and Google approve it, so we can't promise a date. Joining costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If the app never launches, the offer ends.

The Pro beta

If we've invited you to test Pro, your login is for you alone, on your own devices. Please don't share it, or copy or pass on the apps behind it. It's a test: things may change, stop working or go away, and we can switch a login off at any time.

Your music stays yours

The songs you build and the riffs you record are yours, and they stay on your device. If you work with someone else's music, respecting their rights is up to you.

What's ours

The apps, the LazyFret name, the LF marks, and Jack, Kat, Ellis and Chase belong to Stratis Crest. Some parts come from others, under their own licences: see the Credits.

Keep your own copies

Your songs, riffs and stats are saved in your browser. Clearing its data, changing phones, or the browser's own housekeeping can remove them, and we can't recover them. If something matters to you, keep a copy.

No guarantees

LazyFret is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes: a chord shape, a tab or a tuning reading can be wrong. Trust your ears. We may change or remove features at any time.

Limits on liability

As far as the law allows, Stratis Crest isn't liable for any indirect or consequential loss from using LazyFret, including lost songs or data, and our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us, which today is nothing. Nothing here takes away rights the law says can't be taken away.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and of Canada that apply there.

If these change

We'll update this page and the date at the top. Using LazyFret after a change means you accept the new terms.
